It may be that you have always somehow felt different from your family or environment?
You may have always felt that you were different in some way, but were not able to identify why. It’s possible that you were also suspicious that things about you just didn’t add up. Along with the proliferation of consumer DNA tests now being performed (such as through Ancestry.com, 23andMe, and MyHeritage), has been the phenomenon of a number of people getting the shock of a lifetime. DNA test results may reveal a NPE (Non-Paternity Event/ Not Parent Expected), sometimes referred to as a MPE (Misattributed Parentage Experience); other unknown close family members may also be revealed.
